INJURY UPDATE: 76ers Receive Fantastic Tyrese Maxey Injury Update on Monday
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey, after missing the last four games due to concussion protocol, is now cleared to return to the lineup. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news, stating Maxey will play against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. His absence coincided with a 1-3 record for the team.
This update is timely for the struggling 76ers, who have struggled to win games since Joel Embiid’s knee injury in February. Maxey’s return is crucial, as highlighted by the team’s 7-11 record in the 18 games since Embiid’s absence. Maxey, the 2020 21st-overall selection, was having a breakout year before his concussion.
Despite slightly lower shooting percentages compared to last year, he’s averaging career-highs in various stats through 55 games. With the 76ers currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, a healthy Maxey and Embiid are essential for their championship aspirations.
