Justin Fields Traded to Pittsburgh Steelers in Major NFL Deal
In a significant move, former Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has officially joined the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers’ general manager, Ryan Poles, recently announced the trade, stating, “We have engaged in multiple trade conversations in recent weeks and believe trading Justin at this time to Pittsburgh is what is best for both Justin and the Bears.”
Fields, a two-time Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year, was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. During his three-year tenure with the Bears, Fields amassed impressive stats, including 6,674 passing yards, forty touchdowns, and thirty interceptions.
Despite Fields’ contributions, the Bears have been the subject of scrutiny regarding their quarterback selection, particularly with rumors circulating about USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the trade includes conditions: the Steelers’ 2025 6th-round pick traded to the Bears for Fields will upgrade to a 4th-round pick if Fields plays in 51 percent of the plays this season.
Fields will now join former Broncos Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh. While Wilson is expected to start, Fields will serve as the backup option.
The trade has garnered attention across the NFL community, with many applauding the Bears for prioritizing Fields’ preferences. With Fields now in his preferred destination, fans eagerly anticipate seeing him showcase his talent and potential in the upcoming season.
