🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Djokovic’s Choice of a New Coach After Goran Ivanisevic’s Exit
Novak Djokovic is adjusting his coaching setup after parting ways with Goran Ivanisevic, signaling that he might not seek a permanent replacement. Instead, Djokovic is relying on an old friend as he gears up for the Monte-Carlo Masters. Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon champion, joined Djokovic’s coaching team in 2018, bringing a blend of serve expertise and camaraderie. Despite their successful partnership, Djokovic announced their split in a heartfelt Instagram post, citing their on-court chemistry fluctuations but emphasizing their enduring friendship.
While Djokovic hasn’t committed to a new full-time coach, he expressed a desire to assess his needs independently, hinting at a potential shift in his coaching approach. In the absence of a clear successor, Djokovic is leaning on Nenad Zimonjic, a familiar face from his past. Zimonjic, a former doubles specialist and world No. 1, has a longstanding relationship with Djokovic, having played alongside him in the Serbian Davis Cup team and the 2016 Olympic Games.
Zimonjic’s extensive experience and rapport with Djokovic make him a natural fit for the role, although Djokovic has yet to confirm whether Zimonjic will assume a permanent coaching position. Nevertheless, Zimonjic’s involvement in Djokovic’s recent practice sessions, both in Monte-Carlo and Belgrade, indicates a close collaboration between the two, ensuring a seamless integration into Djokovic’s inner circle.
